CODES AND CIPHERS

Love to crack secret codes?Have you ever tried to crack simple and easy codes? Well we have a lot of codes that we use to hide and share our secret messages.Through this, I will teach you to crack simple and easy codes. I have collected top 5 simple codes that a beginner can crack in a few minutes.

1.Caesar box

One of the simplest codes that is easy to crack is the caesar box.

Caesar box – the letters of the message are written in lines in a square (or a rectangle) and then, read by column.

This code doesn’t need something to memorize,the only thing to remember is they were read in column.

Examples.

a. GDOEOAWYOYAODHRU

=16 characters

G  D  O  E

O  A  W  Y

O  Y  A  O

D  H  R  U

GOOD DAY HOW ARE YOU

b. IYNKODNUOOCIWAT

=15 characters

I  Y  N
K O D
N U O
O C  I
W A T

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT

2.Pigpen Cipher

Unlike caesar cipher this uses symbols to represent each alphabet letter through grid lines and dots. It is also called as the masonic cipherFreemason’s cipher, Napoleon cipher, and tic-tac-toe cipher.

3.Keyword Cipher

This uses key to answer an encrypted word.with the use of keywords it determines the letter matchings of the cipher alphabet to the plain alphabet.

Here are the examples.

Another examples.

a. LBHHQ LQW CTB YQD

keyword: beautiful

A= b            H=l            O= m               V=v

B=e              I =c           P=  n               W=w

C=a              J =d          Q= o                 X=x

D=u            K = g          R=  p               Y=y

E=t              L= h           S= q                Z=z

F=i             M= j            T=r

G=f            N= k            U=s

The word ‘beautiful’ has a common letter which is ‘u’ so we won’t use the other ‘u’ on the plain alphabet.

HELLO HOW ARE YOU

4.Tri-code

This doesn’t use something to memorize the only thing to do is divide the given encrypted word to 3 and read it from right to left.

Examples.

a. UOYERAAEBITULUF

(divide by three)

UOY ERA AEB ITU LUF

(read it from left to right)

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.

b. OLIYEVOU

OLI YEV OU

I LOVE YOU

5.Polybius Square

This uses numbers,letters and grid lines. Each two numbers represents an alphabet.This looks like a multiplication table.I and J are combined.

Examples.

a. 33241315 32151544243322 543445

This always be divided by two.

33 24 13 15 32 15 15 44 24 33 22 54 34 45

N I C E M E E T I N G Y O U

NICE MEETING YOU

“Codes are like mathematics equations, you can’t understand and answer if you won’t give time to study and understand.”

“Codes are like mathematics there are combination of letters,numbers and symbols that has a correct answer.”

Thank you and hope you learned something form this.
